Bait And Switch
By phone or by mail, you are offered an amazing coupon deal. You are very pleasantly surprised by how cheaply you can have all the ducts in your home or business cleaned. But as the saying goes: “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” This scenario is common. Often what happens is that once in your home, the company will perform minimal work while continuously suggesting upgrades for additional fees. Quite simply, companies with unscrupulous pricing tactics are not likely to do good work. So even if you give in and pay for multiple upgrades, you are still left with duct systems no cleaner than they were before the company arrived. Often these companies will simply clean areas you can easily see, leaving the rest of the ductwork dirty.

The Quick And Dirty Scam
Companies offering cheap coupons will often schedule service to multiple homes in one day in an effort to make money on their cheap prices. This scam consists of pretending to clean the air ducts for a short while before moving on to the next appointment. Again, they’ve only cleaned what you can see. Not only has there been no deep cleaning, but the conditions of your air ducts are probably worse than before. That style of “cleaning” simply pushes the dust and debris farther back into the hard-to-reach areas of your system. There the dirt will remain, pushing microbes into the air you breathe.
